About Us

Maizah is an apparel brand from Kashmir, specialising in handmade tilla and aari embroidery. Rooted in the valley’s artisanal legacy, Maizah is where loom, needle, and imagination come together, weaving threads of tradition into contemporary couture. Maizah blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, making each creation a symbol of cultural regality and exclusivity.

Our kaarigars are the keepers of time-honoured techniques, lending soul to fabric with every deft stroke of the needle. Golden tilla threads glow with a subtle brilliance, settling into the fabric like jewels woven into time, while the artistry of aari embroidery drapes over with grace, shaping motifs that reflect sophistication and exclusivity.

From flowing kaftans and regal pherans to chic co-ord sets and kurtas, each piece is hand-embroidered on the finest textiles, transforming simple fabric into heirloom attire.

Every Maizah article is a limited-edition masterpiece, shaped through months of meticulous labour selecting raw silk, cotton, or wool, stretching fabric on the frame, and layering stitches until the design blossoms.

About the Founder

Some journeys begin with a destination in mind. Others, like Sadaf Syed’s, are woven by threads of tradition pulling her closer to a world that she was always meant to embrace. Guided by curiosity, a deep-rooted love for the craft, and the invisible strands of heritage that bind generations together, her path unfolded not by design, but by artistic inquisitiveness, turning her vision into a timeless craft.

The story began back in 2015 with paper mache - a craft in vivid hues derived from organic pigments, swirling into intricate floral and paisley motifs. Sadaf gave this ancient Kashmir’s true marvel a platform under the name Hands of Gold, creating a path that’s unique to every artist born with the Midas Touch.

After paper-mache, stepping into the world of hand embroidery was as natural as the season’s turning. Maizah was born - not just as a brand, but as a promise to keep the rhythm of Kashmir’s craft alive.

Sadaf believes that embroidery is not meant to be locked away in trunks or saved for rare occasions. It is meant to be worn, lived in, and cherished each day. It is a quiet luxury that moves effortlessly across generations, softening with time, carrying stories in its every sequence. With Maizah, she reimagines hand embroidery for the modern world, where tradition and everyday elegance walk hand in hand.

With Maizah, Sadaf invites you to not just don an apparel but to embrace a story—one woven with patience, passion, and the timeless soul of Kashmir.
